001 — New Wave UI System
Cold paper. One blue. Extreme type scale. The album sleeve as interface — after Peter Saville, after Factory Records. 1978 — 1988.
Cold off-white paper stock. Electric blue — the single Pantone accent, used with discipline. The tonal range from deep ink to near-white. No warmth in the primaries. No gradients. Every field is an absolute.
Two typefaces, maximum contrast. League Spartan — condensed Swiss grotesque of severe geometric beauty, used at extreme sizes. Space Mono — the typewriter, the catalogue entry, the machine output. Scale collision is the defining gesture.

System Catalogue
Peter Saville's sleeves for Factory Records established an aesthetic language that equated visual restraint with artistic seriousness. The white space was not emptiness — it was pressure.
Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures. New Order's Blue Monday. Each sleeve assigned a catalogue number, archived in sequence, as though music were industrial output rather than artistic expression.
